Legal Secretary - Dispute Resolution
The post-holder’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, liaising with our local and internal clientele and other contacts, including the Courts Office and Judges’ secretaries, preparing court bundles, including case retrieval, photocopying, organizing and indexing. The successful candidate will also be expected to transcribe correspondence and a variety of legal documents, coordinate appointments where necessary, prepare invoices on a monthly basis and assist in the recovery of accounts receivable. The post-holder will also be expected to answer routine correspondence on behalf of the attorney and input daily time records, and will be responsible for ensuring court deadlines are met and relevant court fees are settled.
Applicants must have a minimum of three years relevant secretarial experience within a law firm environment and possess a proven ability to work on their own initiative with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Applicants must be highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications, specifically MS Word and Outlook, and possess fast and accurate capacity to input data from audio and written sources combined with a keyboarding speed of at least 60wpm. Candidates must also possess a high degree of integrity and a proven ability to maintain confidentiality. Knowledge of the FSD and Grand Court rules and procedures is required and a working knowledge of AdEx and FileSite would be an advantage. A working knowledge of Interaction and Concur would also be an asset.
Applicants must also be willing to work overtime, including weekends, at short notice.
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience and will be in the range of US$67,000-US$87,000 per annum plus benefits.
